One of the most interesting projects in crypto in my view is Chainlink.

That’s because it’s very different than most chains. Chainlink is designed as an oracle network and an interoperability layer. It provides immutable data to industries and allows different cryptocurrencies to work together.

And besides on-chain revenue, it has off-chain revenue as well. Chainlink provides oracle services for both blockchain-based companies, and those who aren’t currently operating on-chain.

In other words, it’s a business.

One of the themes I’ve been exploring lately is how revenue correlates with price appreciation. Our early analysis shows that it correlates pretty strongly.

In other words, chains that bring in actual money see their prices increase more than those that don’t.

So with all that out of the way, I think the Chainlink parntership with Robinhood, which apparently is working on its own chain as well, seems like another win for a protocol that is bringing in actual revenue.

That’s grown in the last three years. Revenue went from roughly $5M estimated to $50-70M estimated. And that’s not to mention off-chain revenues, which seem to be close to $150 million. (This is all estimated, to be clear.)

Whether off-chain revenue will impact price is an open experiment right now.

But either way, it’s probably worth paying attention to Chainlink.
